• Holding responsibility and accountability for the systematic implementation of education policies and the prescribed curriculum.

• Submitting proposals for the preparation of annual, medium-term, and five-year plans aligned with the Education Sector Development Framework and Program (ESDFP).

• Implementing approved plans, conducting progress reviews, and carrying out monitoring processes.

• Providing guidance for organizing co-curricular and subject-related activities in schools.

• Introducing and implementing curriculum reforms and modernizations.

• Reviewing the work progress of Subject Directors and Teacher Advisors (In-Service Advisers).

• Monitoring project grants and quality inputs provided to schools through Subject Directors and tracking their progress.

• Implementing subject development programs as and when required.

• Analyzing student achievement levels and taking necessary measures to improve educational quality based on the findings.

• Organizing and implementing initiatives for the capacity development of teaching staff.

• Providing consultancy, evaluation, and monitoring for educational development activities in Divisional Education Offices and other connected educational institutions.

• Organizing and conducting subject-related competitions at the zonal level.

• Implementing external evaluation programs in schools, preparing quality indicators, and taking action based on identified development needs.

• Monitoring internal school evaluation processes and providing necessary guidance.

• Conducting internal evaluations, reporting, and feedback for the Education Development Branch itself.

• Directing and implementing educational programs for children with special needs as well as non-formal education activities.

• Monitoring and following up on principal and teacher performance appraisals.

• Implementing recognition and evaluation programs for principals and teachers.

• Conducting educational research and formulating as well as implementing project proposals based on research findings.

• Regulating pre-schools and implementing related development programs.

• Performing any other official duties assigned by the Zonal Director of Education as and when required.
